I was in DC and Richmond the last two weeks - had a blast and worked my ass off in both cities.

I'm home for a week while I attend Windows 2003 Server - Active Directory Implementation training and then I'm off to Boston till the end of the month.

I met some REALLY nice people in DC and got a nice break while in Richmond.

I also found that I have some chopper time coming up so I'll be taking vacation July 3-7 to do that FT again.
Gas Wars

Poster's Edit: OK, I took out all the "pass this on..." crap but I'm on board with the general idea. I don't buy Exxon and/or Mobile anyway - but if you DO then I would suggest you read further...

POST:

GAS WAR - an idea that WILL work

This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola
executive It came from one of his engineer buddies
who retired from Halliburton. It's worth your
consideration.

Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to
hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might
go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We
need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes
MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain
day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they
knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by
refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience
to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever
thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can
really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at
about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently
$2.79 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the
oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at
$1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to
teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not
sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each
day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we
are going to see the price of gas come down is if we
hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their
gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How?

Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop
buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if
we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T
purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies
(which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not
selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their
prices. If they reduce their prices, the other
companies will have to follow suit. But to have an
impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon
and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!

Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message
on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL
THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP
THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

SAY NO TO EXXON/MOBIL

Went to Targetto and bought a bike helmet. Went bike riding with my boss' wife. It was fun but the bike helmet doesn't fit so it's gotta go back to Target. Then we went to eat at 100% Taquito (yum).

Sunday: I NEVER LEFT THE APARTMENT. I love days like that - I did absolulty nothing. I played Flight Sim some and watched tv. It was ghettofabulous.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Two journal posts in a row!? I know... but, in the words of Mr. Eric Cartman: "WHATEVER! I do what I want."...

It's foggy AGAIN this morning - guess no flying today.

Something else I realized this morning... my apartments are about a mile from a train track and I hear those damn things all night... if I'm hearing tains all the time how do I know when I'm in a tornado?

I actually went to Targetto yesterday and got one of those sound machines. It helped me get to sleep last night hearing the fake-rain but it shut off after the 60 minute timer was out and the damn train woke me up again at 1 AM. I'd use ear plugs but I'm affraid I'd miss the alarm clock.

Oh, and I heard a term yesterday that is sticking with me... "tanarexic". LOL

That reminds me - i need to hit the level 2 beds today...

Seriously, the weather has to get better soon... it's bringing me down. All I want to do is sleep but I gotta get up and go fly. I guess it could be worse.

I took the Jeep back to Circuit City yesterday to bitch about the install and the subwoofer not working... turns out the guy who installed it half-assed the job and his manager (I'm assuming) essentially re-installed the unit and now it works like a charm.

I'm going to bring up a sensitive subject in my journal - but what the hell, it's my journal...

I think I may be a republican. At least on the issue of boarder control and immigration. But then again even the republican plans don't seem strict enough for my taste. I'm sort of a hippie on everything else - gay marriage, firearms, etc. But, I was watching CNN last night and got some stats on illegal immigrants and it's really kinda pissing me off...

Did you know that 1 out of 10 American children in this country right now belong to an illegal mother? The other way of stating that fact is to say Guadalupe is jumping the fence and popping out a kid to stay here quasi-legally... an insurance policy if you will.

Did you know that illegal immigrants take over 10 billion dollars in tax resources but only contribute around 7 million dollars to the tax system? Guess who pays for that... me and you.

Anywho... it just pisses me off when I have friends that cant get a job - ANY job - because someone has hired illegal immigrants to work for peanuts while they're here illegally draining our system. I also have known people, mostly from England, who have moved here - or TRIED to move here legally - and that system is a BITCH. It's not easy - but they did it. And so do over 1 million new Americans a week from what CNN says. If you do it legally I think we should give you a welcome party... but if you're here illegally I think we should focus our tax dollars on throwing you back over the wall.

I guess I'm heartless. But, I work for a living. I pay my taxes - heavily since I'm not making much to begin with - and I'm tired of supporting everyone else's ass.
